Building the leading all-in-one-hiring platform to help every company become great at hiring
Greenhouse is a recruiting software platform that improves your entire recruiting process. From finding, tracking and vetting, to hiring the best candidates, Greenhouse makes recruiting the strategic advantage that moves your company forward.
Greenhouse's UX design and content design team uses Hubble to build and share unmoderated studies with their recruiters and customers, allowing their team to collect rapid insights from their users as they are planning through various feature improvements on their all-in-one recruiting platform.
“Hubble has been a powerful user research tool for our product design team to continuously validate our hypothesis. Our UX designers rely on Hubble to share and test our design concepts and prototypes with users, helping us continue to build powerful features for our recruiters and candidates."
Jaclyn Kershner, Director of Product Design at Greenhouse
Greenhouse Case Study
Greenhouse's UX design team uses Figma prototype tests to collect unmoderated feedback from users. In liaison with their account managers, the designers send unmoderated studies with new design concepts and variations so that they can stress test their design assumptions and collect directly user feedback on designs that have not been implemented yet into staging or production. After adopting Hubble, designers have been able to collect user feedback with much higher speed and quality, allowing them to share user research insights with the rest of the team in a couple of days, rather than having to wait for weeks.
Greenhouse's User Research Workflows Before Adopting Hubble
Before adopting Hubble, Greenhouse's UX design team lacked the capability to conduct unmoderated user research. To collect user feedback, designers and product managers would schedule user interview sessions and conduct moderated research. While facilitated sessions allow for deeper probing with follow-up questions to understand participants' behaviors and preferences—yielding richer qualitative data—moderated research requires significant time and resources for planning, making it difficult to scale. To complement their moderated research sessions, the team began searching for unmoderated tools that would enable them to collect design feedback at a higher scale and speed.
Impact After Adopting Hubble As An Unmoderated Testing Tool
After adopting Hubble, the design team significantly increased the cadence of user testing. No longer solely reliant on user interviews, the team could gather various types of feedback from customers, including Figma usability tests, design A/B tests, image preference tests, user journey studies, and UX copy testing. This shift allowed the product and design teams to make informed decisions based on real user input without compromising the speed or quality of the overall product development process.
User Research From Non-Greenhouse Users in Hubble's Participant Pool
Before adopting Hubble, the team did not have access to an external user pool. With Hubble, the Greenhouse design and marketing teams gained access to over 4 million users for user testing, enabling them to reach core B2B personas such as HR recruiters, job seekers, and HR managers. While collecting feedback from actual Greenhouse users is valuable and essential, scheduling users to opt in for feedback requires substantial effort. By leveraging Hubble's user pool, the team has been able to collect feedback quickly, significantly reducing the waiting time from weeks to mere days and greatly increasing research velocity.
Hubble's broad participant pool and seamless integrations have provided the Greenhouse team with a fast and efficient way to gather research insights from targeted user personas relevant to their comprehensive HR management and hiring features. Greenhouse boasts one of the best product and design teams in the hiring tech and job application management industry. Their deep experience and leadership in the market present unique challenges for product and design teams, requiring thoughtful user research and strategic planning. Hubble is proud to be the primary unmoderated research tool for Greenhouse, empowering the team to validate assumptions and test product features at lightning speed. This support allows them to maintain their leadership and influence as the premier solution for hiring.
Greenhouse has performed various prototype tests and design A/B tests on its recruiter portal and applicant tracking & management user flows.
"Our team can move quickly and have more data points when making design decisions through the prototype tests and design research that we are able to conduct via Hubble."
